Interview
When does Harvard usually start contacting applicants about interviews? I submitted my app right before new years and this is the only school I haven't heard from yet about an interview.

Harvard GPA 2.99?
Are interviews a sign of admission for Harvard? My friend literally applied as a joke with a low GPA, SAT of 1090 and ACT 22, and Harvard scheduled an interview with an alumni? Or is this just one of those things they do with ALLL applicants? So confused and you can imagine how overwhelmed she felt.

Extraordinary enough to get into Harvard?
Hi- I feel I have a rather unique story with extraordinary elements. I have 35 ACT but poor grades (3.4 unw 4.4 w) due to a severe life threatening illness which affected 2 years of school and dropped me from a 3.8unw/4.8w.
Big stand out on my app besides the usual, like president of a few school clubs, is my extracuirrs-- I was wondering if these would be considered "extraordinary":
-created nonprofit for which I fundraised 10s of thousands of dollars + thousands of volunteers in over 8 states that is related to my major and a very good cause, state awarded me for it
-created a LLC (Company) which got over $10,000 from investors I pitched, and increased our evaluation 4x the original $10,000
-few other "companies" as well in which I got some thousands of dollars but minor neighborhood things
Also some personal things like self teaching languages, well traveled + study abroad programs, proficiency in instrument, etc.
Is this extraordinary enough for Harvard?
thanks,
Joe

Where is the non-custodial waiver form?
Hi, I can't seem to find the non-custodial parent waiver form on Harvard's website. Is there any way somebody could point me in the right direction?
Thank You!

My friend got an interview before me and I applied Early Action and he did Regular Decision.
Ok, so I applied to Harvard Early Action, and got deferred. During that time, I assumed that there were no interviewers in my area. However, now that the regular decision applications have been sent, I was still awaiting an interview request. I later found out that my friend (Who applied during regular decision) has already gotten an interview and I have not, and we are from the same school and area. My friend does have better scores, but our GPA and extracurriculars are somewhat similar. What can I do and how does this occur? I feel that an interview would enhance my application. Feel free to comment below.

Does Harvard compare RD applicants with early admits?
2 of by best friends of 17 years are applying to Harvard RD, and I'm afraid I ruined their chances of getting in by committing to Harvard early (before I knew they were applying)
We're in the same school, international from an underrepresented country and have very similar ECs. Would Harvard compare their applications with mine and decide that we're too similar?

Arts Supplement But Not Intending to Major in Art?
I was wondering if I should submit a visual art portfolio if I'm not intending to major in art? But I would definitely be involved with it on campus, in student clubs and what not. I haven't won any major awards but it is a major theme in my application, and I'm decently confident in my artwork. Would it hurt my application if it is not nationally recognized work?

Is it foolish to maintain hope?
I was deferred by Harvard, and I have essentially accepted rejection. I have the stats to make the first cut (valedictorian, 35 ACT, 800s on subject tests, 4.0 GPA), but given the caliber of Harvard applicants, I am certain that my application will be overshadowed by your typical ISEF finalist or IMO competitor.
Being an Asian male going into computer science makes matters worse. The only "hooks" I have are being low-income and first-generation, but I am sure that these will not neutralize the stereotypical Asian qualities seething from my application.
So here is the issue: my parents have very high hopes for March. Though I have accepted rejection, they have not. I am aware that Harvard accepts ~100 deferred applicants during the RD round, but this amounts to an acceptance rate of about 2-3% for deferred applicants.
Based on my situation, is it sensible to maintain a sliver of hope? Or should I let Harvard go?

LOCI questions!
I got deferred by Harvard Early Action, and I heard now is the best time to submit a LOCI. The main issue is that I have a debate tournament in 3 weeks, which I hope to do well in, so should wait until then to send in the LOCI or send it in now and email the update?
Second, I have a YouTube channel, in which I create educational videos. I've only got one super-long video up right now, but I've been working for weeks to get a new one up this week. Should I include a link to that video in my LOCI or at least notify them that I uploaded a new video?
Third, I did spend a summer at Harvard's Summer School, and it was where I gained my interest in the field in which I hope to major. Would it be appropriate to talk about why Harvard is still my top choice by relating it to the wonderful experiences I had there and discussing how I would contribute and fit in to the environment (i.e. meeting and interacting with students who recently became Rhodes scholars, talking about how I regularly and extensively spoke to several Harvard students in a group about my interests, etc.)?
Finally, how long should the LOCI be and should it just be submitted to the Applicant Portal?
Thanks!

Late Applications
Has anyone here ever gotten into Harvard with a late application?

Applied RD - emailing professors?
I applied to Harvard RD and am curious about whether I should email a professor or two in the English department. I've done a lot of creative writing so I'd love to send some of my work over to a faculty member. But I know that a supplementary writing portfolio will be looked at by a professor so would it be seen as unnecessary at best?
By the way, this doesn't just apply to Harvard but to basically all my reaches I applied to. And I only ask this because I've seen several reports about students emailing professors (from various fields) and receiving uplifting replies.
What do you guys think and why?

How long until I hear back from Harvard about FA?
I got in early but applied late for FA. I've submitted all my documents and they were received by Harvard a week ago. Is there a rough amount of time I can expect to wait before hearing back? (International who submitted non tax filer statements)

Median Family Income for Harvard Undergrads Triple National Average, Study Finds
"The median family income for Harvard undergraduates is $168,800—more than three times the national median, according to a recent study.
With an average student at the 79th income percentile, Harvard’s median family income was the third-lowest in the Ivy League: Brown, with a $204,200 median family income, ranked first. The national median household income in 2015 was $55,775, according to Census data.
The study also ranked Harvard first in the Ivy League, but below most other colleges, in its enrollment of undergraduates from low and moderate-income families." ...
