I want to apply to the economics program at Harvard. I'm in IB, and my subjects are Economics, ITGS and Eng Lang and Lit Higher level, with math, bio, and french ab initio standard level. I consistently have had a score of 7 in economics, and my teacher (an ib economics examiner/examiner team manager) has offered to write me a recommendation. Overall i can reasonably expect a score of 40-41/42 for the subjects scores, and 2-3 points in the core. I also have a 1520 SAT score, (with not so good an essay score, but im hoping to make up for that with my ACT writing, which im taking in september), I have done an internship in the DCHD, an NGO which works on a variety of projects - there my main job was data analysis and compilation. I have started a non-profit recently, which is dedicated to opening discussion on taboo topics. Our current project focuses on sexual abuse and sexual health awareness, and we will be holding seminars in school based on an expansion of these topics (also on sanitary health, as i live in a developing country and awareness of even basic needs doesnt exist). I am also making a short film in collaboration with an organization that i am a team member of. The short film intends to raise awareness about treatment of transgenders in society - particularly in a developing country. I'm also considering applying to UPENN because my dad went their for his PhD and the legacy might be of aid, but Harvard is definitely my first choice. Do i have chances of getting in + what more can i do to improve my application?
